2014

Opus Materials Technologies Is Established

Opus Materials Technologies established with the aim of facilitating the industrial adoption of innovative materials technologies. Our focus then as it is now the development of the next generation of anti-soiling coatings.

2016

Solar Sharc® (Formely SOL+) Developed

Opus Materials Technologies lead a consortium co-funded by Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency. Through adopting collaborative approach to R&D and engaging and with key enterprises including: TWI Global, Loughborough
University through CREST, (Centre for Renewable Energy Systems Technology) & Cornelius Specialties led to the development of Solar Sharc®.

2017

Solar Sharc® Developed & Commercialised Through H2020 FTI Everclean Project

Solar Sharc® will be developed & commercialised through the H2020 FTI Everclean Project. Having secured €2.78m of funding to bring Solar Sharc® to market, we aim to achieve certification, commercialisation and supply chain
development to deliver rapid growth. This will be undertaken by a consortium of SMEs (Opus, Onyx Solar, Millidyne) representing the supply chain from materials to application together with specialist coatings technologists from
London South Bank University and solar testing expertise from CEA.

2019

Solar Sharc® Launch

Solar Sharc® will be launched on the market in 2019.
